Introduction to Team Play2Win: Providing Scholarship/Deck Rental Opportunities!
It all started on Reddit in September of 2022 when Jazus made a post looking for a team manager for a new team he’s building. We’ve talked a bit before and I thought it was a great idea. Fast forward a couple of weeks and by the beginning of October we finally decided on a name, Play2Win [P2W]. It was a bit tongue-in-cheek, especially for me as I was known for my Free To Play articles and guides before this haha. After the first couple of weeks, we brought on Teatime as another investor and Boodeedoodle as another manager to keep up with our growing team.
We started with a humble 10 or so scholars, and today we’re proud to say we have a team of 70+ after 3 months! Since then we’ve brought on a couple more managers as well, Agent K (who is on the Council) and TwoD_Fighter. We also now have Filipino and Spanish channels for our team members. You’ve probably seen a few of us around Discord and the weekly leaderboards.
Scholarship Info
As I’m writing this I’m not sure why it’s called a “scholarship”, I think it comes from the Axie Infinity game but I’m not 100% sure. Anyways, it’s basically a deck rental program but with additional support and coaching if necessary. We have a wide inventory of shiny decks that you can choose from; once we connect the wallet to your account, you may mix and match the cards with your own if you like to create a deck (don’t use plain cards though because they decrease your earnings by a lot!). The main responsibility of the scholar is to pay the weekly scholarship/rental fee, which is half of your earned GODS for the week. Everything else you earn (Core and Expansion Packs, Dust, etc) is all yours. It would be beneficial for both of us if you do play 10 ranked games a day but we get that life gets busy sometimes; as long as you’re paying your fee and communicating with us then it’s all good.
Example Decks
As we keep expanding and getting more members, we build more decks to accommodate the numbers. Over time we also try to increase the shine of each deck as well if possible. Here are some example open decks we currently have at the time of this writing:
These are just some examples and we have quite a bit of variety, from Combo to Aggro and everything in between, though some are already taken by our members. As you can see, there are some that are shinier than others, but we work with you and your goals to determine what would suit you best.
Who Should Be A Scholar
There is a wide variety of people we cater to for this program. If you want to maximize your GODS earnings while climbing the ranks and accumulating cards, this is definitely for you. If you don’t care much about the game but want to farm the coins and some cards, we’ll hook you up with a predominately Diamond deck that can earn 5-6 GODS a day even if you’re in the middle ranks. If you play the game for enjoyment and don’t really care about the GODS, this will work for you too. If you want to try meta decks and cards but don’t want to invest in them, of course this is the place to do it. There are some cases where the team won’t make sense for you, like if you’re always in Mythic and have a decently shined up deck already, but hey, you’re still welcome to hang out in our Discord!
